Acknowledgments
When this best practice manual was first published in 2001, there were many people responsible for the content. The Maine CITE Coordinating Center acknowledges and thanks the various agencies and programs that assisted in the original writing. Their input and advice was extremely valuable and much appreciated.
The following programs should be acknowledged specifically for allowing us to use some of their concepts, materials and, in some cases, direct excerpts from their respective written materials: The Maine Department of Education, the Nebraska Department of Education, Office of Special Populations, the Nebraska Educational Assistive Technology Center, the North Dakota Interagency Program for Assistive Technology, DakotaLink - the Assistive Technology Project of South Dakota, the National Assistive Technology Advocacy Project (A project of Neighborhood Legal Services, Inc.), the Western Regional Resource Center, Eugene, Oregon, and finally, ALLTech.
For this revision, the editors would like to acknowledge the dedicated work of Deborah Parker Wolfenden, as the original author, as well as the services of Kathleen Powers of the Maine CITE Program and John Brandt of jebswebs.com who assisted in editing this revision.
