PreviousMaine Care will pay for hearing aids for adults (age 21 and over) ONLY if the adult lives in a nursing facility. PA is required for all hearing aids.
Maine Care pays a flat rate of $400 for any hearing aid it purchases. In addition, only one hearing aid is initially purchased for the first time user. Binaural amplification would be considered, based on additional supportive data.
Hearing aid accessories are reimbursable. These accessories include but are not limited to ear molds, cords and batteries that are necessary for the appropriate operation of the hearing aid. Accessories costing more than $50 require PA.
