Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Must be a Maine resident, from birth through 21 years of age;
  2. Must have significant impairment which substantially interferes with his/ her education in a regular classroom

How To Apply:

Applicants should contact the nearest office to the child's residence. Any office will provide necessary information and ensure that referral is directed to appropriate Education Consultant.

Helpful Hints:

All services are based on availability of funds.

The local school unit (LEA) is responsible for the education of the child who is blind or visually impaired and would be ultimately responsible for providing  the technology necessary for the provision of a Free Appropriate Public Education.

All resources are considered for obtaining necessary equipment.
