The following resources are places where Maine citizens can buy, sell, and donate "used" Assistive Technology:
ALLTECH Recycle & Reuse accepts donations of "gently used" assistive technology and durable medical equipment, and sanitizes and restores the equipment to good working condition. This equipment is then made available for purchase, and often provides consumers with a savings of 50-80% over the cost of new equipment.
Donors of equipment should contact ALLTECH to discuss the criteria for acceptable equipment and arrangements for transfer. Visit the ALLTECH Recycle and Reuse website .
A service co-sponsored by the AT programs in the New England states, GetATStuff is an on-line exchange program where you can buy, sell or trade AT equipment. Visit the Get AT Stuff website .
Submitting an ad to Alpha One is quick and easy. After your ad has been reviewed and is authorized, it will be posted within 24 to 48 hours. All ads are subject to the approval of Alpha One (No services or job listings please!). Visit the Alpha One Classified website .
Uncle Henry's is an institution in Maine having published a weekly classified ad publication for over 30 years. They do not list Assistive Technology equipment as such, but you can search for specific items or look in the "Senior Selections" area for items like wheelchairs and other devices used around the house. Visit the Uncle Henry's website .
