ACTEM logoThe Association of Computer Technology Educators of Maine (ACTEM)

Provides professional development opportunities, resources, and helps schools save funds through its group-purchasing consortium.

 

ALLTECH logoALLTECH

Provides AT assessment, device demonstrations and short-term loans, sale of used AT, training, consultations, and technical assistance in the areas of AT, AIM, specialized software, web accessibility, and universal design in education.

Alpha One logoAlphaOne

Provides information, services and products that create opportunities for people with disabilities to live independently. Services include peer support, independent living assessment, AT financing, benefits counseling, adapted driver assessment and public policy development.

CARES, Inc logoC.A.R.E.S. Inc.

Provides information about AT and advocates for clients of Vocational Rehabilitation and Independent Living Services. They also provide AT device demonstrations and short-termloans geared for seniors and veterans.

 

University of Maine logoCenter for Community Inclusion and Disability Studies (CCIDS)

Links the University of Maine and the community through education, research, community service, and dissemination activities using the principles of inclusion, diversity, universal design and access, and social justice to enhance life for individuals with disabilities of all ages.

 

Disability Rights Center logoDisability Rights Center

Provides information, legal, and advocacy services for people with disabilities including assistance in getting financial support or reimbursement for AT. Also supports the Brain Injury Information Network biin.org.

 

Maine Department of Labor logoDivision of Vocational Rehabilitation - The Bureau of Rehabilitation Services

Works to bring full access to employment, independent living and the community for people with disabilities. Working with the Career Centers and rehabilitation providers, the BRS has three service units: Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) Division for the Blind and Visually Impaired (DBVI) and the Division of Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Late Deafened (DDFFLD).

 

The Iris Network logoIRIS Network

Helps people meet the challenges of vision loss and blindness through services and programs such as AT and Employment to meet the unique needs and goals of each individual.

 

Maine Center on Deafness logoMaine Center on Deafness (MCD)

Serves people who are D/deaf, late-deafened or hard-of-hearing by providing resources, advocacy and helping the public understand Deaf culture and effective ways of communication. MCD provides the statewide telecommunications equipment loan program (TEP).

 

Mainely Access logoMainely Access

Provides AT assessment and services to individuals who have visual impairments or blindness.

 

Maine Parent Federation logoMaine Parent Federation (MPF)

Provides information, advocacy, education, and training to families of children with disabilities. MPF promotes individual aspirations and community inclusion for children with disabilities.

 

mPower logomPower Loan Program

 Provides low-interest financing to buy AT devices, adaptive equipment, access modifications at home and business.

 

Pine Tree Society logoPine Tree Society

Helps people with disabilities lead richer, independent, socially connected lives through services: Pine Tree Camp, Camp Communicate, and the Kids Project. Communication Pathways offers AT assessment, device demonstrations and device loans.

 

U Maine Farmington logoUniversity of Maine at Farmington

The Kalikow Curriculum Materials Center (KCMC) is a free AT library for faculty, students, professionals, individuals with disabilities, and their families. They provide AT device demonstrations and short-term loans, information about AT, how to use and evaluate various devices. Visitors can view AT devices, specialized software and computer adaptations.
